The Journey Begins…. Again!

Hi Friends!  Outside my window, the trees are bare, and the land appears to be barren, but we all know the truth, there is potential for regrowth, and new beginnings just below the surface.  That’s how I feel every January 1st!  Hence, the brand spanking new blog site!

(Don’t worry, I will keep up, way too much information to take down!  But this site will allow for a more well rounded, holistic approach to life!)

Before we begin, again, I do believe it’s a good idea to take a moment to reflect back, for improvements can only arise if you acknowledge what worked… and what didn’t.  Be honest, but be gentle with yourself!

While I had many setbacks in 2018, my hardest fought battle that gave me the greatest hope for my future was the creation of my online store, Lotus Moon Creations!  Don’t bother to google for it just yet ;), I’ve put it on vacation for just a little while.

Lotus Moon was birthed out of my soul purpose and instinctive drive to help and heal the world around me.  All things must begin with self.  Well over a decade ago, relying on my grandmother’s teachings, and my own home studies (not to mention trial and error), with the focus to aid in my own healing and spiritual journey, I began to make my own home remedies.  From tea blends, to tinctures and all things in-between with positive results that I just was not receiving from Western Medicine.  I also began creating my own spiritual workings, from candles, to mysts, incense to oils… and all things in-between (heehee)!  Resulting in a deeper connection between me and the herbs, crystals, and animal spirits that work with me, and the manifestation of my end goals.

So what are my 2019 goals?  Just like in weight loss, making small, dedicated changes to my life, that will stick and sustain me over the long-term, with respect to my personal interest in reopening the store.  These steps will take me well into 2020 and 2021.

The first step?  Certification.  I believe that in all holistic certifications, it’s not just about racing through to get that piece of paper, it’s about taking time to absorb, and apply, the knowledge that you gain along the way.  I am a practical soul, who believes in putting things into practice!  Knowledge serves no one if it’s not applied.

I also believe that energy matters.  It comes from within us radiating from our soul and can and does affect every aspect of our lives and interaction with each other.  For this reason, all my workings towards healing is directly tied to my spiritual practice and ongoing journey.  It also means I take great care in selecting the source for the crystals, herbs, and animal spirit energy (drums, rattles, skulls and more) that go into my practice, and therefore my healing tinctures and salves.  To that end, we move to…

The second step!  Urban Homesteading!  I was lucky enough to be gifted a Click N Grow Smart Garden 9 from my beautiful Soul Sister Sue as a recent housewarming present! It will, once again take an investment in time and a dedication to the care of the plants I plan to grow,  for nutrition, medicine and spiritual workings, but these are beautiful living beings and this gives me the opportunity to add energy and intention during their formative years!

The final step, which will also take me into 2020 and 2021, deals with an issue I believe many of us have in this day and age, tackling self-doubt.  While at the core of it, I do believe in myself, family can sometimes not understand or believe in your goals.  Finding positive ways to help them see is a great approach, but a better one, that I also struggle with, is simply allowing their opinion to be just that.  THEIR opinion.  It does not have to change YOURS! 😀

So what will this new blog be about… exactly?  It will include fun stuff, like reviews (and hopefully discussions with you!) on books I am reading (both fun and practical), teas that I am trying, candles I am obsessed with (yes, I purchase as well as make my own!) and general fun life shares.  That said, it will also include spiritual workings, herbal creations, and body health/fitness/image posts.  These will touch on my own journey in exploring food sensitivity, acid reflux, and my sometimes successful experiments in the kitchen as I  adjust my own favorite recipes to meet my new dietary needs.  I will also share the results of recipes I have attempted from other bloggers who constantly inspire me with their work.

Basically, it’s all about My Urban Oasis, and the live that I am living.   And because it is me, giveaways and surprises along the way! I can’t wait to share it with you, and learn about you in the process.

If you made it to the end, bless your heart!  I wish you all the best for 2019.

Good to see you back in the blogosphere, Kayla. I, too, have been deeply immersed in the world of healing plants all of 2018, it is so absorbing and deeply rewarding. Looking forward to your new sharings…do I need to follow this new blog or will I be notified thru the old one?

Happy New Year beautiful! Unfortunately no, I won’t be posting notifications on Fireside, but I did setup a follow button if you want to check out the type of content I will be posting. It will really be basic ‘this is my life’ sort of stuff 😀 I won’t be going too deep into spiritual work… at least not to start off with. I have a few recipe adventures and one spirit/life happens type blog post ready to go, just have to get some photos to add to content. I am hoping to do tea talks, a herb a week report and maybe a crystal grid or two. 🙂 And definitely want to share my indoor edible gardening attempts, mainly so I can get advice, I am so new to all that! There is already a book review up! My first! It’s definitely a departure from fireside. I won’t delete this blog, and on occasion might post here, if it may be too intense for the lifestyle blog 😉 – I hope 2019 has been treating you well! much love xo k
